Winter Wonder Land

As promised - some pictures of the walk in the beautiful white winter wonder land. Sometimes it can be extremely hard to be aware of beauty around us, to be aware of the things that colour our daily life. I am so thankful for the moments I can see them and for friends who inspire me to do so. Thank you.

Snow in the forest

Yesterday two of my boys and I had a great time in a beautiful white forest - until we almost got eaten up...


Soon I hope to add some nice pictures too.

Life at the mo

A short update after a long time.
First pictures: painting that I worked on for a presentation I had to do for my Psychosocial studies - I could add a whole explanation of all symbolism but I won't... sorry ;-)
Other pictures: Saint Nicolas celebration in Dutchland: shop window decorations I had to make, and two of my boys pretending to be St Nicolas' helpers.
And last but not least - I love the snow at the mo - unfortunately no good picture...

So much going on; great things, but also difficult things. Juggling around with ideas, dreams, obligations and fear and learning to create new balances in life.

Messy head...

If I could make and post a photograph of my thoughts right now, it would be a very big mess. So many thoughts, ideas, new words I've never heard of, frights, and excitement... The end of this week I start the 4 year course Psychosocial Therapy and Gestalt Family Therapy. ... ... Hope to be back on my blog soon...

Enormous stones, small fish, lot's of fun and beauty

Last week we stayed in a Dutch area called Drenthe to spend our last week of vacation. What a great area. Love the people, the nature, the relational-, old fashioned & relaxed way of living.
Visiting hunebeds, walking through a gnome park (no, the gnomes were fake...), searching through old stuff at markets, some primitive fishing with the boys, reading, baking pancakes, eating them (ofcourse), visiting old friends (after 17 years), enjoying forests and wandering about in a zoo!

Beach

Last week we went for holiday to Zeeuws Vlaanderen. A great week of enjoying sun, beach, a cool breeze, fun with the family, relaxing, making trips and searching for little treasures in the sand and water (we found lots of crabs, shrimps, shells and shark teeth!). It was fabulous!





Now back to work...

In the grass

Today we went to a family member's birthday and spend some hours in the sun. I loved laying in the grass - and the kids who couldn't resist jumping on top of me a few seconds later!

DIY

Last two weekends I went to my parents house to do some DIY for them. I fixed the roof and painted a shed. It was hard work but I really enjoyed being there. And so did my two eldest boys. There is so much to see! And I loved spending time with my parents.

Dairy farm

Today we visited our friends who live on a dairy farm.
As a small child I regularly went to a dairy farm with my mom to buy fresh milk. I remember these moments well; the smell on the farm, the cows, the farmer... good memories...
It was great to spend time with our friends today, to chat, to have tea and to milk the cows (well, I only watched;-)

Explosion of creativity

I shared my new Ecoline with my boys (only the two oldest;-) and we had a great time playing with it. They never worked with it before so it kind of gave an explosion of creativity!

Amsterdam

Last Friday I spend a day in Amsterdam.
I enjoyed wandering around and spotting beauty, taking some time to write and draw and meeting a good friend for a coffee (and orangejuice). A beautiful day in a beautiful city!

Ecoline

One of the presents I got for my birthday was a book voucher, so I went to the local bookshop and discovered a box of Ecoline on top of a shelf! Great! In my mind I saw already some great things I could do with it. So I started...

Clock

Last weekend we spend a late afternoon with some good friends and their children in their garden. It was such beautiful wheater!
My friend is a collector and has collected lot's of stuff. One of his newest discoveries is this big old factory clock.
I love old clocks. Funny, I don't know why... Pieces of art, moving, with a history, a story, capturing time...

Another wolf story

I found this short animation (in 4 parts) on youtube. A beautiful film about a boy and a wolf... I love it! When I was younger I seriously thougth about studying animation to make films like these. One of the most beautiful parts of being an artist (or human being) is to emagine and create. To travel and enjoy the beauty in new worlds or stories...

birthday gift

Today we celebrated my birthday. This is a beautiful gift I got from my 2 oldest beautiful children.

They both made also another card and Micha even made an self invented game, with a little 7 mm bal and two pieces of folded paper and wood.
Isn't that awesome!
