Playing with ink
Spend some time playing with ink this morning (with the topic 'spring'). I love the way ink flows in unexpected ways with water and the way the bright colours mix and give suprising effects. The children agree.

Beautiful!
The sound of lot's of birds singing invited me to the forest across the road. I am glad I took the time to leave stuff behind to take a moment to enjoy it. So beautiful to hear their songs again and to smell nature. It was that typical bird song and scent of a coming spring!

I made a sound recording but am unfortunately not able to put it on my blog. Such a pitty, the birds were so loud and with so many!

The little things...

Easter weekend
We had a great Easter weekend. Friday the children and I decorated the eggs - great fun! It's interesting to see the differences between the children: Micha (7) paints very precise with different colours. Ezra (5) painted only with dark blue (all his eggs were completely covered with blue...) and Noah (almost 2) put more effort in decorating the egg holder than the egg and believed that was the intention of it all... They all had fun - so me too.

Saterday we went to a country estate with a castle for a walk. The children enjoyed playing at a little stream. Great to stand still to observe natures colours and shapes, hearing the sound of wind through the trees, and smelling the fragrance of spring...

Time for Spring!

In the centre of the little town that I live is a very old shop. It's actually the oldest shop of town! It's a shop where they still sell lot's of stuff that you can't find anywhere else. I have the priviledge of working there... 4 days a week.
One of the things I do is changing the shop window every season. Last week I changed everything to the 'spring' theme - hopefully Spring won't keep us waiting too long now...
If you want to watch a nice video about the little shop - click on the links (unfortunately only in Dutch) part 1 and part 2.
The video makes me proud of working there!
